The A.P.I. Study: Academics and Prevention Inseparable identifies specific
factors and promising practices that simultaneously sustain youth
development and increase student achievement. The main purpose of this
study is to test how prevention and youth development activities correlate
with academic achievement. A key finding suggests that students who were
exposed to consistent prevention and youth development activities showed a
significant increase in their test scores and commitment to learning. To
